Last night I finally got to see one of my favourite bands of recent years, Gay for Johnny Depp.
The screamo punk outfit conists of former member of the amazing Quicksand, and Instruction who were equally pivotal in the mid to late nineties punk rock movement.
Gay for Johnny Depp
Support came from Computers who fondly reminded me of Rocket From the Crypt/Drive Like Jehu, with thier take on a kind of rockabilly speed punk, screamo vocal and hooky riffs.
All-girl punk rockers Hearts Under Fire and ex Dogs Die In Hot Cars/Million Dead members - Who Owns Death TV? failed to hit the spot which was a mighty blow for me with such high expectations of a revitalised Million Dead with less smug-bastard front-man. An unfair statement perhaps.
