This was taken for BMS Magazine. The Defiled are currently on tour with Romeo Must Die and played The Freebutt in Brighton on Sunday night.
I know what you are thinking, ‘say, isn’t that the same spot from the last shoot’? Why yes it is. I wasn’t actually expecting to do anything with the guys, but luckily I had a few minutes free after shooting Romeo Must Die and before Matt Parisi, Editor of BMS could interview the band it seemed like a great opportunity not to be missed.
It was a real surprise and a great treat to be able to work with the guys, Alex (far left) is possibly one of the most amusing people I have met of late, I think the fact that he amuses himself makes everything he does funny. Perhaps not the kind of thing a heavy hitting industrial outfit would like you to say about them.
Live, they will literally rip you open, shit in you and then sew you back up. There’s not an ounce of give in their fast paced and thundering repotoire. Sounding more like Static-X or Slayer than Nine Inch Nails or Depeche Mode, my one recommendation for coming months has to be: Buy a ticket for their support slot on the Deathstars tour in April.
Some live shots from the show will be up soon. Tomorrow is wk2 of the Garage Studio creative photography course so think I will be busy next few days.
