Last week, Brooklyn photographer Ricky Powell managed to drag himself away from mountains of snow, a somewhat mixed back of A-list buddies, and no doubt some dead hookers in the back of trailers, to do a little walky and a little talky about some of his career, as a kid who stumbled into the music industry photographing the likes of Beastie Boys, Run DMC, LL Cool J, along with Andy Warhol and many of the rising artists of the 80s.
I went along with the crew from Garage Studios, we got drunk, we laughed a lot, we got annoyed by rude bitches who decided their conversation was more important than the stoned guy doing the best part of a bottle of Baileys and we went home cold just in time before the snow hit.
