Christmas really has come early this year with a rather splendid email from the London based band Nedry this morning. During their recent tour of Japan, they were interviewed by a lot of international magazines, one of which was the much coveted NYLON. The band kindly sent me some scans this month of the feature(s) in the magazine along with the full interview. Read on for more.
It has been a great year for Nedry, a new record released, extensive UK touring, being championed by Huw Stephens on BBC Radio One which has led to two Maide Vale live sessions, an incredibly successful tour of Japan and finishing up the year with a deal on Monotreme records. The band are now set up for a massive 2010 with a month long tour of Europe with label mates 65 Days Of Static.
What’s really nice is that 2nd of January 2009 was my first photoshoot of the year with Matt and Chris and really is where everything kicked off. Several months later and I was back in London with the band with new/returning vocalist Ayu for another shoot in the amazing Abney Park Cemetary, where these images were taken, they have just snow balled since.
Both records are available via iTunes the spectacular Condors is also available at Amazon, featuring Ayu is certainly one of the best electronic albums of the year rivaling the likes of The Knife, Fever Ray and Bjork.
