Blackstorm are an amazing band primarily based in Brighton. The line up reads like a dirty supergroup, which explains why their groove laden metal is so god damn perfect. Vocalist Karl Middleton fronts up the outfit (Earthone9, The Blueprint, Twin Zero, This Is Menace), bassist Gez Walton (The Ghost Of A Thousand), guitarist Neil Kingbury Fall Of Efrafa) and drummer Jon Perry have been joined by Tom Bates as 2nd guitarist making Blackstorm one loud(er) mother fucker.
The introduction of Tom was announced late last year and we had been working on getting everyone together for a while before this finally happened, blighted by averse weather, the holiday season, geotargetting errors and I had a drippy nose for a while too.
A cold morning at the end of January greeting the guys, myself and good friend Kevin Mason managed to drag Gez out of bed for a brief session before one of their intense all day writing sessions. The images are now in circulation around the press in warm up to the release of Rise Rebel Seers on March 9th via iTunes or Distort Digital.
