Christmas Eve 2009. To my great amusement, I find a friend is frantically speeding his way through Brighton picking up the presents he didn’t realise he would need. We find ourselves in desperate need of alcoholic relief. Returning to Avangelist HQ I begin to tell him of the idea I have had for an image.
About a week before Christmas, dump sites for Christmas trees began appearing around Brighton. I had recalled how sad they looked the previous year as a pyre of pine accumulated on The Level.
Imagine, I said, if people threw away their trees with all the decorations still on them, how strange would that look?
Co-creator Matt Halls (Garage Studios), and I headed out one night in January 2010, after another bizarre day of heavy snow, and froze ourselves to death for a few hours, putting together what you see above (click on it for a larger version).
I am not going to explain any further than that, if people want to ask questions, use the comments section below, this is a rare occasion where I am not going to give all the info up front.
