lebucquiere communal cemetery
I took a trip to France this weekend, a first for many things.
I wanted to explore the memorials and landscapes that serve as a reminder to the atrocities of our ancestors.
Lebucquiere cemetery is about an hour away from Amiens in the Somme.
Understated and remote it hosts the resting place for several hundred troops mainly from England, Wales, Scotland and Australia.
The weather was bleak, and reading through the roster of men the eldest I found was 54 the youngest 18 acted as a reminded of how fortunate we really are in Europe today.
