01.20.10More Filming with Nikon D300sI have been having great success with the video features on the Nikon D300s, after shooting a live performance of Here There Be Monsters last year at Concorde2, and experimenting with a few techniques over the Christmas period, I got another opportunity to put it to more commercial use this month. 09.15.09Brighton SOURCE September 2009I wrote my first cover story recently for Brighton SOURCE magazine. I interviewed Telegraphs during the photoshoot for the cover done by my good friend Kevin Mason at Garage Studios. I also assisted on the shoot - man of many hats. This was a big thing for me as I had never really attempted to write a feature spawned from an interview, only from research. 06.19.09I make it bins O’clock!After 5 months of photographing waste bins, first just in Brighton, then across the country, its time to move on to something fresh. This is the final shot, taken this week and has a slightly unique element to it, in that it has been the only one which I have really concentrated on capturing. I used a Nikon SB800 flash zoomed to pop the bin out and metered for the sky. I have had a quite a few emails over the months and just as many conversations with people in the street. 02.25.09Creative Photography WkIIIBit late on posting this week, but with good intention! This weeks assignment for the Garage Studios Creative Photography course, was to shoot with a disposable film camera, fairly open again as far as a brief - create your own brief. I have chosen one of my favourite subjects. The Death of Communication. I put the camera in this afternoon ready for tomorrow and hope to scan the best ones in at the weekend. Course lecturors and tutors Kevin Mason AKA DarkDaze and Matt Hall will also be partaking in this weeks assignment which I am greatly looking forward to.
