Nedry + Guardian Online = Avangelist Photography photo

I was very happy to get a link passed through from Nedry, to let me know they’ve been featured in The Guardian newspapers band a day series.

A really nice write up, which I think sums up their style quite nicely and includes one of my photos with full credit. Always nice where it can be done.

More Filming with Nikon D300s

I have been having great success with the video features on the Nikon D300s, after shooting a live performance of Here There Be Monsters last year at Concorde2, and experimenting with a few techniques over the Christmas period, I got another opportunity to put it to more commercial use this month.

I received a call one afternoon from Garage Studios asking if I could do still and film a large fashion editorial shoot they had planned for that evening, seeing a great opportunity to go a little ‘doco’ I said yes indeed.

Caught on camera

My good friend Adam Bronkhorst of Garage Studios, has begun his next portraiture project, this time rather than using retro camera’s, a lowly iPhone is his weapon of choice.

Nedry – NYLON Photo by Andy Parker

Nedry - Nylon

Christmas really has come early this year with a rather splendid email from the London based band Nedry this morning. During their recent tour of Japan, they were interviewed by a lot of international magazines, one of which was the much coveted NYLON. The band kindly sent me some scans this month of the feature(s) in the magazine along with the full interview. Read on for more.

Ricky Powell Vs Brighton

This IS Ricky Powell

Last week, Brooklyn photographer Ricky Powell managed to drag himself away from mountains of snow, a somewhat mixed back of A-list buddies, and no doubt some dead hookers in the back of trailers, to do a little walky and a little talky about some of his career, as a kid who stumbled into the music industry photographing the likes of Beastie Boys, Run DMC, LL Cool J, along with Andy Warhol and many of the rising artists of the 80s.

I went along with the crew from Garage Studios, we got drunk, we laughed a lot, we got annoyed by rude bitches who decided their conversation was more important than the stoned guy doing the best part of a bottle of Baileys and we went home cold just in time before the snow hit.
